About

Elder Millennial Leader is published by me, Liz Gross. Dr. Liz Gross, if you want to be formal. I'm afforded multiple leadership laboratories:

  • Startup founder and CEO
  • Nonprofit board of directors president
  • Paid advisor to a small, privately-owned business
  • Life-long learner

I earned my Ph.D. in Leadership, Learning, and Service at Cardinal Stritch University, and my M.Ed. in Educational Policy & Leadership from Marquette University.

My lived experience includes a lot of privilege. I'm a white woman, a first-generation college student, and grew up solidly middle class. My husband and I own our home but have 20 years left on the mortgage. My student loans are finally paid off.

I claim "elder millennial" status based on my birth year—1982. I didn't have a cell phone until my senior year of college, and got my Facebook account after graduating. I started supervising staff when I was 23 years old. I became a marketing director for a college shortly after my 28th birthday. I started a business as an intrepreneur at 35. Millennials in leadership roles aren't new, but I want us to be a new type of leader.
